Factor Profiles
What is a Factor Profile?
A Factor Profile is how you tell MAES which emission rates to use for each site. Each profile ties equipment categories (wells, separators, tanks, piping, compressors) to a specific set of emission and activity factors from a published measurement study. These factors are not single values but probability distributions, so MAES can assign an emission rate and an activity level to each equipment item. When you export a study sheet, MAES uses the assigned profile to fill in those EF and AF distributions for every piece of equipment. TetraSoft ships a set of curated profiles based on peer-reviewed studies; you can also create your own below.
